Protection standards

Child safety.

Public rules against child sexual exploitation and abuse, and how to submit a report.

This is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancies, the Italian version prevails.

Child safety is a fundamental rule of chAPP_over. These prohibitions apply to messages, Rooms, contacts and every other use of the platform. The service is intended for people aged 18 or over, but child protection rules always apply.

1. Zero tolerance for abuse and exploitation

chAPP_over prohibits use of the platform for child sexual abuse and exploitation, grooming, coercion, sexualisation of minors and the creation, distribution, solicitation or unlawful possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

It is forbidden to ask minors for intimate material, to manipulate them to obtain information or meetings, or to promote activities that expose them to harm or exploitation.

2. How to report

Anyone who notices a risk or a violation can send a report to [email protected], stating the essential facts. Do not forward abuse material; describe the problem and wait for instructions from the authorities or the point of contact.

3. Handling of reports

Credible reports must be reviewed with appropriate priority, applying the technically available measures and, where required, involving the competent authorities and bodies. Cooperation with the authorities takes place in accordance with applicable law.

In a situation of immediate danger, contact law enforcement or emergency services directly.

4. Child safety point of contact

Reporting from the Android app

In the app you can report a message, a Room or a contact and select “Child safety” as the reason. A report contains the information you enter and, if selected, the individual message; the complete history of P2P conversations is not uploaded automatically. For potentially illegal material, avoid forwarding copies and contact the designated point of contact or the competent authorities.
